Gift Guide 2024

The Jarbon 2024 Official Christmas Gift Guide

Buying presents at this time of year is enough to send even the calmest among us into a proper Christmas panic!

To avoid any festive meltdowns and to ease some of the pressure if you’ve committed to making all of your Christmas gifts this year (it’s ok, we’ve all been there!) we have plenty of delightful ideas for every special person on your list…

For the non-crafter
As much as we may marvel at them, some folks in our lives don’t need to have a pair of knitting needles in their hands at all times. For these unfortunate souls, we have something very special to pop under their Christmas tree, and that’s one of our Appledore Heirloom Blankets.

A cosy, warm, beautiful celebration of local fibre, you can introduce a wee bit of wool to even the most un-crafty soul.

For the puzzler
We all know someone who always has a jigsaw on the go. As well as being big crafters, we mill folk also consider ourselves puzzle aficionados – they’re just the perfect way to while away a winter’s evening, combined with something to nibble on and a roaring fire of course.

Illustrated by our friend, Katie Green, our Woolly Takeover, a 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle is the best way to spend a chilly time inside.

For a just little something
Sometimes, we just need a little stocking filler or a cute little Secret-Santa gift that doesn’t break the bank. We have some beautiful enamel pins, (featuring our sheepy buddies Edna and Gladys), some tote bags, illustrated by Aleks Byrd, and sheepy stickers, illustrated by Katie Green. We love ‘em!

For yourself!
While you’re buying for others at this time of year, it’s only fair to pick up a wee treat for yourself, right? We’re sure you deserve it! In our book, the perfect way to relax during this somewhat busy time of year is to take a moment with your favourite beverage, in the cosiest nook of your home, with a bit of crafting on your lap and something fun to read.

Our in-house magazine, ‘The Annual’ is the perfect way to take a moment for yourself, enjoy some crosswords, articles, and oodles of info about fibre and our mill. Plus, each issue features exclusive patterns designed specifically for our yarns, from our most favourite designers.

For the yarn and fibre-fiend
Some of us just love a special little skein of yarn or bundle of tops that set our hearts racing. If you know someone who gets a kick out of limited-edition fibre, we have a whole section on our website dedicated to hand dyed yarn, one-off fibre, and truly unique specials.

For the person who has everything
There’s always someone on your Christmas list who has it all, who never wants anything and never gives even a hint at what they’d love to open on Christmas day. Well, to that person we’d like to extend an invite to a rather exclusive little club.

Mill Members receive access to oodles of limited edition specials, early access to new products, a lifetime 10% discount and our heart felt thanks for helping us do what we love every day! Plus you get a glorious little certificate, badge, and presentation folder to wrap up and put under the tree.

For that last-minute gift
Don’t worry, we’ve all been there, Christmas creeps up on us, or there’s a surprise person that we need to buy for and ooops, we need a last-minute gift that the receiver is still going to love. A gift voucher is your answer, and we have ‘em right here for you on the website.

After all, a large part of the joy of creating – be it spinning, knitting, crocheting, felting or weaving – is letting your imagination run wild and combining various textures and colours. What a gift to receive!

We hope we might have given you a few ideas and perhaps made the gift-buying process that bit easier for you this year. However, while we all love a sweet little prezzie or two, we know there’s more to this time of year than what’s wrapped up in sparkly paper. We hope that however you spend this time of year, and whether you celebrate or not, you have a warm and cosy, relaxing time with your favourite people, and your favourite crafts. Enjoy.
