There’s nothing quite like a shade card to really understand the feel of a yarn and the rainbow of shades that make up its delicious palette. Here we have our brand new Exmoor Sock shade cards and we can’t wait to see what you think – especially when it comes to our four new shades!
Our new and improved shade cards use recycled materials, are printed locally, and are made up by our mill folk, alongside the help of a rather fancy new machine here at the Mill. (Who is yet to be officially named!) We all know how tricky it can be to pick the right colour for your project from your computer or phone screen. This handy shade card will allow you to view all the colours of our Exmoor Sock and get a proper feel for the texture, all in the comfort of your home. Each card contains a small sample of each available colour in the range.
We can just imagine our shade cards proudly displayed on bookshelves and brightening up a crafting area – it’s not just us who love collecting shade cards, right?
Our Exmoor Sock Yarn
Our Exmoor Sock yarn enhances the durable character and bounce of the fibre from our local Exmoor Blueface sheep – a cross breed of the Exmoor Horn (full bodied and hard-wearing) and the Bluefaced Leicester (renowned for its softness and lustre). We’ve added naturally dark browny-black Devon Zwartbles giving extra bounce and a subtle fleck of colour, plus Corriedale to enhance softness and stitch definition and a hint of Nylon for durability.
Our Exmoor Sock yarn not only celebrates Exmoor, but is designed to be perfect for socks, whilst still having the versatility to suit garments and accessories that relish a hard wearing, machine washable yarn. If you fancy stripes or colourwork, our Exmoor Sock is available in handy 50g skeins.
