Midwinter Tops – Last Leaves
To celebrate this chilly season, we have created some gorgeous Midwinter Tops in a limited number, that remind us of winter in the natural world and all the joys this season brings to us here in North Devon.
As we begin to say goodbye to 2024, the days become darker and shorter, the countryside loses its fresh pops of summer colour and frost starts to welcome us most mornings when we step out of the door. There’s lots to inspire us at this time of year and Laura has created ‘Murmuration’ and ‘Last Leaves’ as a reflection of our changing landscape.
After a summer of vivid colour and lush new growth, our deciduous trees are just about holding onto their fading foliage, turning from a bright green to a faded brown. Laura was inspired to create a beautiful and subtly shifting shade, to capture those final few leaves, before the trees become bare for winter. Made up of yellows, browns, flashes of white and streaks of green, we think ‘Last Leaves’ will create the most wearable and versatile yarn.
The blend of Merino, Alpaca, Exmoor BFL, BFL, Corriedale and British Wool, is a deliciously soft but characterful mix. We think it will be brilliant worked into a cable or two in a squishy winter jumper or accessory set.
